Majority of online mocks have the 49ers selecting Haden and Iupati

Apr 19, 2010 at 9:45 AM--

The majority of the mock drafts that can be found at online draft resources and fan pages have the San Francisco 49ers selecting cornerback Joe Haden of Florida and guard Mike Iupati of Idaho.

Haden and Iupati would definitely fill two need positions for the 49ers.

Haden, who many consider the top cornerback in the draft, played in 40 games for Florida. Haden, who stands at 5'11" and weights 193 lbs, had 218 tackles and 8 interceptions. 18 out of the 33 mock drafts surveyed had San Francisco selecting Haden.

Iupati, who many consider the top guard in the draft, stands at 6'5" and weighs 331 lbs. 13 out of the 33 mock drafts surveyed had San Francisco selecting Iupati.

The San Francisco 49ers aren't too concerned about the injuries that wide receiver Deebo Samuel and linebacker Fred Warner sustained during Sunday's 34-26 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Samuel exited the game due to a groin injury. A hamstring injury sidelined Warner. On Monday morning, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that Samuel's setback is "not considered a major injury," but that the team's leading receiver is expected to "miss a little time." That more than likely rules Samuel out for Sunday's Week 13 game against the Seattle Seahawks. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler provided an update on both players, who received MRIs on Monday morning. The reporter states

Carlos Dunlap's hand may have been all that stopped the San Francisco 49ers from scoring on their final play during their 30-23 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. The 49ers had the ball on a 4th-and-Goal with seconds to play when quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo spotted wide receiver Trent Sherfield open near the end zone. Garoppolo threw the ball in Sherfield's direction, only to have it batted away by the 6-7 defensive end. With the game on the line, the Seahawks defense came up HUGE 💪📺 Re-watch the game »

In an alternate universe, Carlos Dunlap doesn't get his hand up high enough to block Jimmy Garoppolo's pass, and the San Francisco 49ers cut the Seattle Seahawks' lead to one in that Week 13 NFC West battle on Sunday. Now, head coach Kyle Shanahan has a decision to make. Does he kick the extra point and head into overtime or go for the win and get the heck out of Lumen Field? On Monday, the 49ers coach spoke with reporters via a conference call and was asked if he would have gone for two had his team scored on that final drive. "Um ... I feel like I ... I was planning on going for two," Shanahan responded, obviously hesitating to answer before realizing that there was no harm now in the admission. "That's how I felt, but then we'll see how I felt after that down
