Majority of online mocks have the 49ers selecting Haden and Iupati

The majority of the mock drafts that can be found at online draft resources and fan pages have the San Francisco 49ers selecting cornerback Joe Haden of Florida and guard Mike Iupati of Idaho.

Haden and Iupati would definitely fill two need positions for the 49ers.

Haden, who many consider the top cornerback in the draft, played in 40 games for Florida. Haden, who stands at 5'11" and weights 193 lbs, had 218 tackles and 8 interceptions. 18 out of the 33 mock drafts surveyed had San Francisco selecting Haden.

Iupati, who many consider the top guard in the draft, stands at 6'5" and weighs 331 lbs. 13 out of the 33 mock drafts surveyed had San Francisco selecting Iupati.

Mike McGlinchey has an abundance of confidence in John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan's ability to do what is right for the San Francisco 49ers, even if that involved some tough decisions. All of the offensive tackle's teammates feel the same way. The general manager and head coach duo had a tough decision this offseason. They like quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and know they can win with him. However, he has missed 23 games over the past three seasons, prompting the 49ers to make a move for the future. That's what they did on March 26, trading up to the No. 3 overall pick with the intention of drafting a young quarterback. That ended up being Trey Lance of North Dakota State. "I think [drafting Lance] is a great thing for us, but I also know that they're comfortable

One of the many reasons the San Francisco 49ers were appealing to Richard Sherman when the veteran cornerback signed with the team in 2018 was Jimmy Garoppolo. The quarterback was coming off an impressive five-game run after being traded from the New England Patriots, and the 49ers had just re-signed him to a long-term deal. It looked like the team had solidified its quarterback position. Three years later, Garoppolo's eventual replacement is on the roster. Recent injury-plagued seasons forced San Francisco to plan for the future — post-Garoppolo. Last week, the team drafted Trey Lance with the No. 3 overall pick. Garoppolo remains on the roster and is part of the 49ers' plans for the upcoming season. He will be the team's starting quarterback, allowing
