San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is returning to the field for the first time since Week 4, when he aggravated the turf toe injury he initially suffered during the season opener.
It has been a long road back for Purdy. The 49ers quarterback missed eight games as the lingering injury kept him on a week-to-week recovery plan. It wasn't until this week that he finally felt healthy enough to play without limitations.
But how healthy is Purdy right now? According to FOX Sports insider Jay Glazer, the answer is encouraging heading into Sunday's Week 11 matchup.
"Interesting what happened, because he went down in Week 1," Glazer said. "And then, in Week 4, he didn't just aggravate the injury—it's kind of a freak accident where the weight of a player landed on that toe the exact same way, completely reinjured it. That's why he's been out all this time."

The 49ers will take on the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium as they look to rebound from their Week 10 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
On Thursday, Purdy told reporters he doesn't expect to need any extra protection on the injured toe as he returns to action.
"Now, he is so good, though, going into today's game, where they talked about maybe using some sort of protection on the foot. Doesn't want to do that. A different type of shoe? Doesn't want to do that.
"He's comfortable enough going into today's game without that extra protection, so he is a full-go today."
