San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel is in New Orleans this week, joining the media frenzy ahead of Super Bowl LIX between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. Samuel turned some heads when he arrived wearing an Eagles jersey.

Don't read too much into the fashion choice, though. It's unlikely a hint that Samuel wants out of San Francisco before the final year of his contract. The jersey he wore was that of Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown, a close friend.

Samuel recently revealed his rooting interest heading into the league's championship matchup.
"They [the Chiefs] beat me twice [in the Super Bowl], so I got all the reason to hate," Samuel said during a podcast discussion. "It's the Chiefs and the Eagles, you know I got a love-hate for both, but you know I got all the love for my brother A.J. Brown over there, so I definitely want to see him win. I definitely don't want to see Mahomes get the third one. So yeah, I'm rocking with A.J. and Saquon [Barkley] with this one for sure."
Samuel has been mentioned as a trade candidate in recent years, with teams frequently inquiring about the versatile wideout. When asked if Samuel would still be with the 49ers in 2025, general manager John Lynch made it clear that the star receiver remains under contract and is staying put.
"A good player and has done a ton for this organization," Lynch added. "We're not in the business of letting good players out of here."
