San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa missed Wednesday's practice as the team began preparations for Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills. Bosa, who also sat out last weekend's loss to the Green Bay Packers, is recovering from hip and oblique injuries but believes he's trending in the right direction.

"I made a good amount of progress, for sure," Bosa told reporters on Wednesday. "It's feeling a lot better. I still need to get better before I'm ready to go, so this week will be big, and I'll know a lot more in the next couple of days."

Bosa remains uncertain whether he'll be healthy enough to participate in team drills this week, but he's hoping to progress enough to suit up on Sunday at Highmark Stadium.

The star pass rusher did not travel with the team to Green Bay, opting to stay behind and focus on his recovery. Watching the game on television provided a rare perspective for Bosa, who admitted it was an unusual experience.

"It was weird," Bosa said. "Yeah, I haven't watched a Niner game on the TV copy in a long time, and you definitely notice a lot of different things. But obviously, it wasn't the best game for us, so it was kind of stressful."

If Bosa can play Sunday, he'll face the challenge of containing Bills quarterback Josh Allen, one of the NFL's most dynamic players. Bosa shared his thoughts on Allen's unique skill set.

"He can do it all," Bosa shared. "He can go through reads, make any throw. He can look people off. He can run for first downs, run people over. He's flops a lot. He slides. So it's tough. You never really know when to hit him or not. But yeah, he's as good as it gets."
