Jerry Jones says 49ers ‘can be had’ after watching Vikings beat Cowboys’ nemesis

Following the Minnesota Vikings' victory over the San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expressed confidence in his team's potential to secure a win against their NFC nemesis in a future matchup. The 49ers knocked off the Cowboys 42-10 on October 8. It was San Francisco's third consecutive win over the NFC rivals, including two playoff meetings.

Since that last meeting, the 49ers have suffered back-to-back losses, with the Vikings handing them their latest defeat on Monday night. With his team on their bye week, Jones paid close attention to this primetime matchup.

What did the Cowboys owner learn from the latest 49ers defeat?

"Well, I would have liked to have played better against the 49ers, and of course, watched with interest this entire weekend's games, but certainly that one last night," Jones told radio station 103.5 The Fan, per Angelina Martin of NBC Sports Bay Area.

"You see a team step up there and play like Minnesota did and their quarterback did, they can be had -- the 49ers, I'm talking about. Then you also see a Minnesota team, like last night, that needs to be reckoned with as you go down the road. Hello NFL."

While the Vikings win over the Cowboys' kryptonite may have Jones eager for a rematch, one former NFL player believes the outspoken owner should probably avoid the Niners, if possible.

"You know, Jerry Jones, yeah, you're right. The 49ers might can be had," ESPN's First Take co-host Shannon Sharpe said Tuesday morning. "You just can't do it. Remember, over the last three years, you've gotten three cracks at them. How'd that turn out for you?

"They can be had, but you all didn't have them. I don't know why Jerry like to interject himself into a conversation. ... When you get out there on the field, the 49ers, in their mind, not in the back, but in the front of their mind, know they will out-physical you. They will do what they want to do. They dictate pace. They dictate tempo."

We'll see if the two squads face each other again in the postseason.
