The reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Nick Bosa, has never witnessed anything quite like it during his pro career and believes his offensive teammates are turning in some remarkable performances.
"This is the most confidence I've had in our offense," Bosa admitted before Wednesday's practice. "Not that I haven't had confidence, but obviously, when you put up 40 points, it makes things for us a lot easier. Teams are in passing situations more.
"We're getting taken out of the game a little early, but it's all good for winning."
It's unclear which quarterback the 49ers will face on Sunday when the team travels to Cleveland to play the Browns. Deshaun Watson has been sidelined from practice due to a bruised right rotator cuff. The 49ers head coach plans to be ready for Watson, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, or P.J. Walker.
"We've got to be ready for all of them," Kyle Shanahan said on Wednesday. "We know they like to run the ball. We know their quarterbacks can make plays. And we'll be ready for all three, though."
Does this uncertainty alter how Bosa and his fellow defensive linemen approach preparations for the Browns' offense?
"It doesn't really change too much for us," Bosa shared. "I think we'll probably get a better idea as the week goes on, but yeah, not too different preparation as a D-line."
San Francisco is riding a 15-game regular-season winning streak, tying a franchise record. They aim to surpass this record on Sunday against the Browns.
