The NFL has named San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey the NFC Offensive Player of the Week. The honor comes after McCaffrey racked up 177 all-purpose yards and four total touchdowns in Week 4 against the Arizona Cardinals. That includes 106 rushing yards and 71 receiving yards.
McCaffrey led the NFL in scrimmage yards and scrimmage touchdowns in Week 4.
This is the second career Player of the Week award for McCaffrey, who last earned the honor in Week 8 last season. He is the fourth 49ers running back to win the award multiple times, joining Roger Craig (4), Garrison Hearst (3), and Frank Gore (5).
McCaffrey becomes the third former Stanford player to earn Offensive Player of the Week honors multiple times, joining quarterbacks John Elway (15-time winner) and Andrew Luck (5-time winner).
