The NFL has announced that San Francisco 49ers running back
Christian McCaffrey has been nominated for this week's
FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week award. Fans can click the link to vote for the Niners player.
McCaffrey was impressive in his 2023 season debut, racking up 152 rushing yards on 22 attempts (6.9-yard average) and adding a rushing touchdown in the Niners' Week 1 30-7 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The other nominees are Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb and Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler. McCaffrey last won the award following Week 14 last season.
FedEx gives fans the opportunity to recognize weekly top-performing quarterbacks and running backs in games played on Thursday through Sunday through the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week Awards. Voting is open until Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. PT at
NFL.com/FedEx each week of the season. Fans can also vote on Twitter via the @NFL published polls and on the NFL Mobile App.
Through the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week Awards, FedEx will make a $2,000 donation in the names of the winning quarterback and running back ($4,000 total) to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has been named this week's FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week. It is his first-ever time earning the award and comes on the heels of an impressive performance in the team's 27-14 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The honor comes on the heels of Purdy earning his first-ever NFC Offensive Player of the Week award.
Purdy finished the game completing 21 of his 25 passing attempts for 333 yards and three touchdowns, earning a perfect passer rating of 158.3, lifting the 49ers to a 7-3 record.

The 49ers flipped the script on Thursday, notching a 31-13 win over the Seahawks at Lumen Field in Seattle that was followed by a slew of 49ers getting their fill of Thanksgiving turkey, courtesy of NBC.
