The San Francisco 49ers and Las Vegas Raiders will hold two joint practices ahead of their preseason game at Allegiant Stadium. That exhibition matchup will take place on Sunday, August 13, the 49ers announced.

Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports that the 49ers and Raiders will hold their joint practices on Thursday, August 10, and Friday, August 11.

After the game against the Raiders, the 49ers will return to Levi's Stadium to host the Denver Broncos on Saturday, August 19, and Los Angeles Chargers on Friday, August 25, meaning the team will never leave the Pacific Time Zone during their exhibition schedule.

The trip to Las Vegas will reunite the 49ers with their former quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo, who signed with the Raiders as a free agent in March.

The 49ers and Raiders last played each other during the preseason in 2021, following a decade-long drought going back to their previous matchup in 2011. San Francisco beat Las Vegas 34-10 in that 2021 preseason game.

Last year, the 49ers held joint practices with the Minnesota Vikings at the TCO Performance Center in Eagan, Minnesota, ahead of the team's preseason game at U.S. Bank Stadium. San Francisco won that game 17-7.

Cornerback Ambry Thomas is working through a knee injury. Both players were listed as limited participants on Tuesday. Will the receiver be a game-time decision? Thursday night was a fun one at Levi's Stadium, where the San Francisco 49ers cruised to a 30-12 victory over the visiting New York Giants. It was a night that saw wide receiver Deebo Samuel declare himself as officially out of "awful" mode, running back Christian McCaffrey reach milestones, wide receiver Ronnie Bell create some lasting memories, and -- of all things -- Andrew Luck making a return to an NFL field (in full Civil War costume) to take part in a game of trivia. Let's recap all that and more in this version of 49ers Notebook. Not awful anymore Back in June, Deebo Samuel caught some attention with his honest description of his 2022 performance

49ers demolish Giants in Week 3 victory: Key takeaways

By Marc Adams
Sep 22

It's hard to think of the New York Giants without some painful postseason memories. And that's why it's always so sweet to beat them soundly. And the San Francisco 49ers did just that on Thursday night, winning 30-12, and improving to 3-0 on the season. Although the score was relatively close at halftime, it wasn't as close statistically. And by the end of the game, it was even more lopsided—on the scoreboard and on the stat sheet. When you have more YAC (yards after the catch/contact) than the other team has total yards, you've thoroughly beaten your opponent. The Giants had 150 yards of total
