The San Francisco 49ers are looking to bolster one of their strongest position groups. On Monday, the team hosted three defensive linemen ahead of training camp for workouts. They were defensive end T.J. Carter and defensive tackles Tomasi Laulile and Robert Nkemdiche.

If Nkemdiche's name sounds familiar, it's because of a report from last week that the 49ers were signing the defensive tackle. As of Monday, that obviously has not happened. No major media outlets have reported the signing yet, but a decision could be looming.
The Arizona Cardinals drafted Nkemdiche (6-3, 296) out of Ole Miss with the No. 29 overall pick in 2016. Per Pro Football Reference, he registered 15 tackles, a quarterback hit, and a pass defensed through nine game appearances with the Seattle Seahawks last season.
Carter was an undrafted free agent out of Kentucky in 2020 and has yet to appear in an NFL game. Laulile was also an undrafted free agent (BYU, 2018) who has yet to play in an NFL game. He has spent time with the Indianapolis Colts.
