Nick Bosa is in his third NFL season, and he is now in the San Francisco 49ers record books. The talented defensive end sacked quarterback Matthew Stafford during the second quarter of Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Los Angeles Rams. That gave him 7.5 career postseason sacks, which tied Charles Haley for the most in franchise history.
Later in the game, Bosa recorded half a sack, giving him eight career postseason sacks, and setting a new franchise record, surpassing Haley's mark.
Haley set the franchise record in 12 postseason appearances. Bosa got to the eight-sack mark in half the time, as Sunday was the young pass rusher's sixth postseason game.
San Francisco selected Bosa out of Ohio State with the No. 2 overall pick in 2019. He finished the regular season with 15.5 sacks, 52 tackles, 21 tackles for a loss, 32 quarterback hits, a pass defensed, and four forced fumbles, per Pro Football Reference.
Bosa recorded 2.5 sacks in his two playoff games leading to Sunday's bout with the Rams.
