49ers sign WR Austin Mack, LB Curtis Robinson to practice squad, release two

The San Francisco 49ers announced the following roster moves.
- WR Austin Mack and LB Curtis Robinson signed to the practice squad
- WR Devin Funchess and LB Justin March released from the practice squad
March was activated from the practice squad ahead of Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks. On Monday, he reverted back to the practice squad before being released.
Funchess was placed on injured reserve on November 30.
The 49ers Communications staff provided the following rundown.
Mack (6-2, 215) originally entered the NFL after signing with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent on April 30, 2020. As a rookie in 2020, he split time between the team's practice squad and active roster and went on to appear in 11 games (one start) and add seven receptions for 91 yards. Mack was waived by the Giants on September 7, 2021 and later signed to the Tennessee Titans practice squad on November 23. He was released from Tennessee's practice squad on November 30.
A 24-year-old native of Fort Wayne, IN, Mack attended Ohio State University, where he appeared in 45 games (28 starts) and finished with 79 receptions for 1,050 yards and six touchdowns.
Robinson (6-3, 235) originally entered the NFL after signing with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent on May 14, 2021. He was waived by Denver on August 31, 2021 and signed to the team's practice squad the following day. He appeared in three games and registered five tackles for the Broncos prior to being released from Denver's practice squad on November 30.
A 23-year-old native of Santa Ana, CA, Robinson attended Stanford University, where he appeared in 45 games (17 starts) and finished with 144 tackles, five passes defensed, 3.0 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one interception.

Two reported 49ers pre-draft visits didn't end up happening
Despite initial reports, two draft prospects who were set to visit the San Francisco 49ers ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft ultimately did not meet with the team. Matt Barrows of The Athletic revealed that former USC wide receiver Brenden Rice and former Oregon safety Jamal Hill didn't end up visiting the Bay Area organization.
Barrows wrote, "Meanwhile, a report in March indicated that USC receiver Brenden Rice, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, would visit the 49ers, but he didn't end up coming, according to two league sources."

49ers sign WR Trent Taylor, reuniting with former draft pick
The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of wide receiver Trent Taylor to a one-year deal, reuniting with the team's former fifth-round draft pick out of Louisiana Tech.
Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area was the first to report that the 49ers were discussing a potential reunion with Taylor. The receiver was part of head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch's first draft class in 2017 and spent his first four NFL seasons with the team.

Draft Watch: Western Kentucky WR Malachi Corley visiting 49ers on Wednesday
The San Francisco 49ers are hosting several draft prospects this week as the deadline for pre-draft visits draws near. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the team will host former Western Kentucky wide receiver Malachi Corley on Wednesday.
Corley is expected to be a Day 2 pick. San Francisco owns two selections on Day 2—the No. 63 overall pick in the second round and the No. 94 overall pick in the third round. Currently, the receiver is visiting with the Seattle Seahawks.
