It sounds like Joe Staley's coaching career will have to wait. The former San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle helped out during the team's joint practices last week and was in Santa Clara on Wednesday for that practice.
No, Staley is not gearing up to be part of an NFL coaching staff. He is preparing for his newest endeavor, though. Staley is joining NBC Sports Bay Area to help with pre- and post-game coverage.

Today, Staley bought lunch from La Villa Deli for the team's on-site media, and one reporter posted a photo of the attached note.
"From one media member to another, please enjoy lunch courtesy of NBC Sports Bay Area's Joe Staley," it read.
It also stated that an official announcement is expected to come later today.
Staley, the No. 28 overall pick in 2007, spent 13 seasons with the 49ers, starting 181 games before retiring in April of last year. He is a six-time Pro Bowl selection and remains a fan-favorite player.
