Apr 23, 2020 at 12:15 PM--

NBC Sports Bay Area posted a video of five San Francisco 49ers players sharing what they remember from their respective draft days. The video features short stories from linebacker Fred Warner, safety Jaquiski Tartt, defensive lineman Solomon Thomas, defensive back Jimmie Ward, and tackle Mike McGlinchey.

During the video, Warner shares that his uncle, a die-hard Niners fan, gave him his 49ers bomber jacket to wear as the linebacker heard his name called on television.

Tartt shared why he initially thought he was headed to the Houston Texans before learning he was actually going to San Francisco.

Thomas, Ward, and McGlinchey also shared how he felt receiving their draft-day calls from the 49ers. You can watch the video below.

The San Francisco 49ers are scheduled to face the New England Patriots in Foxborough next weekend. It will be a bit of a homecoming for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who spent his first three seasons learning from Tom Brady and Bill Belichick before being traded to Kyle Shanahan's squad in 2017. "It will be cool to get back to the old stomping grounds, see some familiar faces," Garoppolo said after the home-team 49ers knocked off the Los Angeles Rams. The Patriots are struggling, sit at 2-3, and are coming off two consecutive losses. The injury-plagued 49ers responded to

The San Francisco 49ers will host the Los Angeles Rams at Levi's Stadium on Sunday night, which will also serve as the team's Alumni Game. Of course, that means something very different this year amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Usually, 49ers alumni would be in attendance. This year, 95 alumni will "attend" as fan cutouts, arranged in the shape of "SF" in section 109. 49ers players selected defensive lineman Arik Armstead as this year's Perry/Yonamine Unity Award for his off-field community efforts and work with the Armstead Academic Project. A $10,000 donation will be made to his charity of choice, the Players Philanthropy
