The NFL announced that San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month for November. The latest honor comes following the team's 20-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 13.

Warner was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week in Week 12 after a win over the Green Bay Packers. He is the first 49ers linebacker to earn Player of the Month honors since NaVorro Bowman (December 2013). Rookie defensive end Nick Bosa earned the award in October.

Warner had 33 tackles, three sacks, a pass defensed, and two forced fumbles during the month of November. He racked up 11 tackles and two passes defensed against the Ravens on Sunday and now has 92 tackles, three sacks, six passes defensed, and three forced fumbles through 12 games this season.

"I thought he played as good as any of the linebackers that I've seen play them on tape and as it got going, all of them, that's what I meant by settling down a little bit," head coach Kyle Shanahan said this week when asked about Warner's performance against the Ravens. "They were good in the beginning, but they got better as the game went because the more you see that stuff, the more you get a feel for it. When you've got a guy like Fred, who's very natural at things and football comes to him the right way, he just got better as the game went."

The 49ers made Warner a third-round draft pick out of BYU in 2018.

49ers reportedly sought No. 17 overall pick plus Jaguars player for Brandon Aiyuk

By David Bonilla

Mia O'Brien, a reporter for Jacksonville radio station 1010XL, was the first to link San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk to the Jacksonville Jaguars last week. A new report from O'Brien sheds light on the asking price for the star wide receiver, who is entering his fifth-year option. According to O'Brien, the 49ers sought the No. 17 overall pick, plus wide receiver Zay Jones, in exchange for Aiyuk. However, it seems this asking price was deemed too high for the Jaguars, who would have had to part ways with these assets and commit significant money to Aiyuk in the form of a contract

After Steve Wilks's dismissal, the San Francisco 49ers had several options for their vacant defensive coordinator position. Although former Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley was considered for the role, he ultimately joined the coaching staff as the assistant head coach under head coach Kyle Shanahan. He will focus on game plan preparations while offering his experience to the team. Nick Sorensen, the team's defensive pass game specialist, was awarded the defensive coordinator position. Shanahan opted for an internal candidate, valuing Sorensen's familiarity with the staff and the defensive system. When asked what qualities Sorensen demonstrated to prove he's ready to call plays for the defense, Shanahan explained, "He's worked with a lot of people
