So, Arik Armstead is having a good season. He is part of one of the most ferocious defensive lines in the NFL, a San Francisco 49ers front that is giving Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers some problems right now.

The 49ers (9-1) currently lead the Packers (8-2) 13-0 late in the first half of this NFC showdown at Levi's Stadium.

Armstead recorded his ninth sack of the season, bringing down Rodgers in the second quarter on Sunday night. Why is that news? Because it matches the defensive lineman's sack total from his first four NFL seasons.

Armstead is in his fifth NFL season after San Francisco made him the No. 17 overall draft pick in 2015. He is playing on the fifth-year option from his rookie contract and is scheduled to become a free agent after this season.

49ers allowing Arik Armstead to leave was a 'tough' decision

By David Bonilla
Mar 27

Arik Armstead was the longest-tenured member of the San Francisco 49ers, joining the team as a first-round draft pick two years before head coach Kyle Shanahan's tenure began. It's one of the tough things when trying to keep a team together, and just where it goes with the salary cap and stuff." Betting on himself, Armstead wanted to test free agency to see if anyone would be

Arik Armstead: I felt 'extremely disrespected' by the 49ers

By David Bonilla

Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Arik Armstead wanted to make one thing clear: He harbors no animosity toward his former team, the San Francisco 49ers, despite his recent release. However, that doesn't mean he liked how the situation played out. The two sides had tried to work on a contract restructuring to prevent his departure but ultimately could not reach an agreement, leading to Armstead's exit. On his podcast, "Third and Long," Armstead opened up about the situation, stating that the offer the 49ers extended was insulting, especially after playing nine seasons for the organization. After the Super Bowl, the 49ers approached Armstead to discuss the restructure, which he expected. The team had initially indicated that they wanted to sign him
