The San Francisco 49ers' online documentary-style series, "Brick by Brick," debuted its third season on Wednesday night. The Hard Knocks-style series, which is developed by the team's in-house video production studio, 49ers Studios, offers a behind-the-scenes look at training camp and players as they prepare for the upcoming season.
General manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan are entering their third season with the 49ers, and many expect the team to make a jump from last year's four-win campaign, which was devastated by injuries.
The first episode of season three is titled "The Build Up," and the description reads as follows:
Take a look back at the 49ers offseason including the Senior Bowl, the NFL Draft and OTAs.
You can watch the premiere of the web series' third season below, on the team's official YouTube page, or 49ers.com.
While "Brick by Brick" does not go as in-depth as HBO's "Hard Knocks," it does offer the Niner Faithful a fun behind-the-scenes look at the 49ers' offseason.
Unlike its HBO counterpart, which will feature the Oakland Raiders this year, it does not feature areas like roster-cut discussions with players. As an in-house project, the 49ers have total control of what their online series features.
"[Hard Knocks is] not something we would be really excited about," Lynch told NBC Sports Bay Area in January. "I love the show, but I think some things are best left behind closed doors. I fundamentally have a problem with cutting players and things of that nature (on camera). It's not something we'd be thrilled about."
Episode two of "Brick by Brick" will debut next week.
