The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Mabin as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa on May 1, 2017. He spent time with the Buffalo Bills before being signed to the 49ers practice squad on October 18, 2017. San Francisco promoted Mabin to the active roster on November 1, 2017.
Mabin appeared in 13 games with one start in 2018 while registering 16 combined tackles and a forced fumble, per NFL.com. San Francisco waived the cornerback on October 30, 2018, and re-signed him to the practice squad on November 1, 2018. The 49ers promoted Mabin to the active roster on November 8, 2018.
