The Odell Beckham Jr. rumors will not die down despite the New York Giants trying to make it clear — without actually being 100 percent clear — that they have no intention to trade the Pro Bowl receiver.

The latest chatter surrounding Beckham comes from Colin Cowherd of FOX Sports, who believes the Giants are willing to part ways with the talented receiver.

"I believe that the New York Giants — I've been told this — are willing to move Odell Beckham," Cowherd said this week. "But there's a lot of optics here on what they want to get in return."

Cowherd says that two different sources have informed him that Beckham would prefer to play for the Los Angeles Rams or San Francisco 49ers if he were to be traded. He also hears that general manager Dave Gettleman would like to trade the receiver, but the player's popularity complicates things.

"You just can't give him away," Cowherd continued. "You've got to get something big. The Niners have the No. 2 pick. The Niners wouldn't mind giving away a first rounder for Odell, but they don't want to give away the No. 2 pick. That is really valuable."

Cowherd says the 49ers should consider trading next year's first-round pick because he believes San Francisco will have a lower selection in 2020.

"San Francisco wants him, I'm told, really, really bad," Cowherd said. "But they don't want to give up the No. 2 pick. Maybe next year's first round (pick).

"The Giants, by the way, are willing to part with him. But they want the No. 2 pick because they want to feel like they win this situation.

"You've got Philadephia kicking butt in your division. Dallas is kicking butt in your division. You would become a rebuilding team. You just don't want to admit it to your fans."

Cowherd adds that he is rooting for a Beckham-to-49ers trade because he would love to see the receiver catching passes from quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

"It would be Moss and Brady," he explains. "It would be over-the-top numbers for Odell Beckham. I think deep down, Odell Beckham is wildly frustrated in New York, and he's really frustrated with (quarterback) Eli (Manning), and he's really frustrated with the roster, and he feels he's an all-time talent, and he feels he's wasting his years."
