The topic of Colin Kaepernick came up during NFL commissioner Roger Goodell's Wednesday news conference. He was asked again why the quarterback is continually passed up by NFL teams for seemingly less qualified candidates.

"Our clubs are the ones that make decisions on players they want to have on their roster," Goodell responded. "They make that decision individually in the best interests of their team."

Goodell was later pressed to share why he thought Kaepernick, who many believe is being blackballed by the league, remains unsigned.

"I think it's a repeat of what I just said, which is that if a team decides Colin Kaepernick or any other player can help their team win, that's what they'll do," Goodell said.

Will Colin Kaepernick play another snap in the NFL again? He's been out of the league for two years now. One of his former coaches, however, believes the quarterback can still help an NFL team.

Former San Francisco 49ers head coach Chip Kelly, now with UCLA, was asked point-blank by TMZ whether or not he believed Kaepernick should be in the NFL.

"Yes," he responded without hesitation.

What team would be a good fit for Kaepernick?

"Anybody that wants a good quarterback," Kelly answered.

The UCLA coach believes Kaepernick is "ready to go" for a tryout should an NFL team give him the opportunity.
