If you ask George Kittle about the possibility of Antonio Brown becoming his teammate, the San Francisco 49ers tight end will deflect the question and tell you to talk to general manager John Lynch or head coach Kyle Shanahan.

"I just show up and play football," Kittle has said.

Of course, neither Lynch nor Shanahan can comment on Brown, who is currently under contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"I'm not allowed to talk about someone who's under contract," Shanahan told reporters during the week leading to the Senior Bowl.

Wide receiver Marquise Goodwin, however, is more than willing to discuss Brown and did so during a one-on-one with Trysta Krick of USA Today. Goodwin is in Atlanta, Georgia promoting Mophie during the week leading to Super Bowl 53.

How does Goodwin feel about all of the hype surrounding the possibility of a Brown-to-49ers scenario?

"I just take it for what it is," he told Krick. "I don't make anything bigger or smaller than what it is. The media, they tend to hype things up sometimes and make it more than what it is."

Krick asked if Brown himself, and not just the media, is hyping the situation a bit too much.

"He may be," Goodwin responded. "I don't know him as a person, personally, but just going based off of what I see, he may be hyping it up now. To his defense, I think he can be one of the best in the league's history. Great player, I just hope he lands where he's supposed to."

How does Goodwin feel Brown would fit with San Francisco?

"I don't know," he answered. "It would be interesting to see if he ever were to come on our team. It's not something I spend a lot of time thinking over. I see me as the AB of our team. But I don't know. We'll see."

Goodwin added, "I'm always down for help (on the team). Whatever gets that Lombardi trophy."

No interview would be complete without asking about Jimmy Garoppolo. Goodwin was asked how his quarterback is doing with his rehab.

"He's doing great, looking good, working out, just staying on top of things," Goodwin responded. "He's back in Cali, so he's putting work in right now as we speak."

Goodwin also discussed the tragedy he and his wife went through over the past two years and said they are grateful for all of the fan support they have received.

"We do see you all's positive messages, and that does help us," Goodwin said.
