Marquise Goodwin is fast. He's really fast, and one San Francisco 49ers cornerback is looking forward to watching opposing defensive backs try to keep up with him on Sundays.

Richard Sherman recently spoke with the Sporting News to promote his new fantasy sports venture, Daily Number, which is a competitor to services like FanDuel and DraftKings. You can watch a promotional video below of Sherman poking fun at Daily Number's competition as well as a few jabs at himself.

"He's a bit of an a--hole," Sherman says of ... Sherman.

During the conversation, Sherman also discussed Goodwin and the man throwing him the football on offense, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

"[Goodwin has] worked really hard at his craft and come back in incredible shape," Sherman said. "He's really come out here and had one of the best training camps I've seen any receiver have, and I have been around some pretty good ones. He is just taking over that role as a leader in that room and working hard with Jimmy G.

"Everyone is seeing the fruits of his labor. I look forward to him impressing a lot of people in the regular season."

Garoppolo has finally had a complete offseason learning the 49ers' playbook, something that is expected to help elevate his game during the upcoming season. Fans have already been given a little preview of the Garoppolo-to-Goodwin chemistry. The duo connected on a 40-yard pass during this past Saturday's exhibition game against the Houston Texans.

"Jimmy has gotten more comfortable in [coach Kyle Shanahan's] system and understanding what's been asked of him, the spots on the field he needs to get the ball to," Sherman said. "With Marquise's speed and how quickly he gets down the field, Jimmy's had to brush up his mechanics more so that he can hit him in stride. Because if he takes a normal drop and reads it like he normally does, then by the time he lets the ball go, there are not many quarterbacks who can hit a guy who's already 50 yards down the field on the rush, so Jimmy has had to figure that out.

"Right now, they're (a) finely tuned machine. I look forward to them winning us a lot of ball games."
