For the second week in a row, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has been named the Castrol Edge Clutch Performer of the Week. This time, it was for his performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Garoppolo is coming off of his fourth-straight start with the 49ers. During the Week 16 victory over the Jaguars, he completed 21 of his 30 pass attempts for 242 yards, two touchdowns, an interception, and a passer rating of 102.4. That rating is the highest allowed by the Jaguars this season.
In his four starts this season, Garoppolo has led the team to four consecutive victories (vs. Bears, Texans, Titans, Jaguars) and completed 98 of his 143 pass attempts for 1,250 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions.
Garoppolo beat out wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald (Cardinals), running back Dion Lewis (Patriots), and fellow quarterbacks Jared Goff (Rams) and Alex Smith (Chiefs) for the NFL honor.
