49ers trade 2018 draft pick for Broncos RB Kapri Bibbs

Apr 29, 2017 at 9:30 AM--

The San Francisco 49ers have traded a fourth-round pick in 2018 to the Denver Broncos for running back Kapri Bibbs and a 2017 fifth-round draft pick, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Bibbs was signed by the Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2014. He spent that season on the team's practice squad. In 2015, Bibbs was promoted to the active roster in October following an injury to Juwan Thompson and was active for just one game before being released and then re-signed to the practice squad.

In 2016, Bibbs appeared in 12 games, carrying the football 29 times for 129 yards. He also had two receptions for 75 yards and a touchdown. Bibbs suffered a high ankle sprain during Week 13 of the 2016 season and was placed on injured reserve.

Bibbs joins 49ers running backs Carlos Hyde, DuJuan Harris, Tim Hightower, Mike Davis and Raheem Mostert.

Bleacher Report may not see it that way, though. The site asked five of its NFL writers to pick each division's winners, and the NFC West wasn't the landslide victory for the 49ers that you might expect. In fact, three of the five writers went with the Seahawks, including longtime 49ers fan Matt Miller.
