49ers-Patriots Injury Report: Torrey Smith misses second straight practice

San Francisco 49ers WR Torrey Smith (back) has missed two straight team practices this week. He spent Wednesday on the side field doing individual work.

OLB Aaron Lynch practiced today, but numerous members of the media noted that he did so while limping badly on his ankle.

DT Quinton Dial, bothered by his knee and neck, practiced. However, he was in a blue non-contact jersey for the start of practice.


Below are the Wednesday practice participation reports for both the New England Patriots and the 49ers. The two teams face each other on Sunday at Levi's Stadium.

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 2 contest against the New York Jets on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Neither tight end George Kittle (knee) nor cornerback Jason Verrett (hamstring) practiced. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said this week that he hopes Kittle can practice on Friday, but even if he can't, that doesn't necessarily rule him out for Sunday's game.
