Bungled punt return shows 49ers can’t get out of their own way

Bungled punt return shows 49ers can't get out of their own way [...] on the ensuing punt, when Jeremy Kerley called for a fair catch, gunner Aaron Burbridge ran smack into him. [...] the Buccaneers kicked a field goal to extend their lead — and deflate the 49ers once again. The collision and turnover looked like a play from the Keystone Kops or the Three Stooges, and it summed up the afternoon: Burbridge, a rookie, wasn't around when the 49ers' locker room opened, but Kerley, a six-year veteran, took the blame. On the possession following the Tampa field goal to make it 20-14, Colin Kaepernick was sacked and fumbled, and the ball was recovered by the Buccaneers, who responded with a touchdown for a 27-14 lead. The day was a disaster all around, but the muffed punt was the most symbolic play.

Rumor: Steelers believe they can acquire 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk at a bargain
By David Bonilla

According to Sports Illustrated contributor Noah Strackbein, who writes for "All Steelers" on the network, there's a level of confidence within the Pittsburgh Steelers organization that they can strike a deal for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk—and at a bargain rate.
"According to a team source, the Steelers and 49ers trade talks are real," Strackbein wrote. "While nothing is imminent, they 'would be surprised if it didn't happen.' But it all comes down to compensation, and Pittsburgh isn't willing to budge much on price."
While it seems unlikely that the 49ers would part ways with Aiyuk for anything less than a first-round draft
