49ers linebacker Aaron Lynch could be limited after suspension ends

The 49ers' outside linebacker said Monday that he recently lost about 30 pounds and has returned to his 2015 playing weight of 270. [...] yes, that means Lynch, who was clearly plus-sized during training camp, had been hovering around 300 pounds. Head coach Chip Kelly said the team was hopeful that Lynch would play Thursday against Arizona, but suggested his snaps could be limited because of his lack of in-game activity. On Sunday, Kelly said he needed to review game video before he could provide a definitive assessment of quarterback Blaine Gabbert's fourth-quarter passes in a 24-17 loss to Dallas. On Monday, Kelly acknowledged Gabbert's underthrown deep pass to Torrey Smith that was intercepted by cornerback Morris Claiborne wasn't a result of pass-rush pressure. Wide receiver Jeremy Kerley did not practice because of an ankle injury he sustained Sunday. Kerley, who was walking with a limp in the locker room, leads the team in receptions (18) and receiving yards (202). In other injury news, defensive tackle DeForest Buckner (foot) and cornerback Jimmie Ward (quadriceps) didn't practice. Guard Zane Beadles, cornerback Chris Davis (quadricep) and tight end Vance McDonald (hip)...

The San Francisco 49ers are likely hoping that a top offensive lineman drops to them at No. 31 in the first round of this month's draft. Fans would like to see the team add someone to compete with Colton McKivitz for the right tackle spot and potentially take over for Trent Williams when the future Hall of Famer decides to retire. 49ers sign WR Trent Taylor, reuniting with former draft pick

The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of wide receiver Trent Taylor to a one-year deal, reuniting with the team's former fifth-round draft pick out of Louisiana Tech. Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area was the first to report that the 49ers were discussing a potential reunion with Taylor. The receiver was part of head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch's first draft class in 2017 and spent his first four NFL seasons with the team.
