Four More 49ers Protest in Solidarity With Colin Kaepernick

Sep 18, 2016 at 2:30 PM--

The growing protest movement spearheaded by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick gained four additional supporters Sunday afternoon in Carolina.Linebacker Eli Harold, safety Jaquiski Tartt, cornerback Rashard Robinson and safety Antoine Bethea all lifted their blarfists into the air while the national anthem blared throughout Bank of America Stadium to protest racial injustice and police brutality, as first reported by CSN Bay Area's Matt Maiocco. The four defensive comrades represent the latest set of 49ers to publicly join teammates Eric Reid and Kaepernick in the ongoing national anthem protest.Since Kaepernick's first reported sit-down during the third week of the preseason, the backup quarterback for the 49ers has slowly amassed support from colleagues around the league, athletes across the sporting world and President Barack Obama. That support has also been challenged by critics who believe the protest is unpatriotic and disrespectful to law enforcement officials.Photo Credit: Getty Images
