On Aug. 27, 2013, four days before LSU's season opener, cornerback Rashard Robinson was cleared to attend the university after the NCAA determined he'd met the necessary academic requirements. [...] Robinson, a four-star recruit, played in 12 games after missing the season opener. Mike Detillier, a member of LSU's radio network who is also a Louisiana-based draft analyst, said LSU's coaches were wowed by the 18-year-old, who counted sophomore cornerback Jalen Collins as a teammate. "I know the coaches at the time we're telling me '(Robinson's) the best defensive back we have on this team,'" Detillier said. Three years after LSU's coaches were talking up Robinson, however, they aren't discussing him publicly after he was dismissed from the team following his sophomore season. Miles and LSU defensive backs coach Corey Raymond, a former NFL cornerback, declined to discuss Robinson with The Chronicle through a university spokesman. "According to a team source, the Steelers and 49ers trade talks are real," Strackbein wrote. "While nothing is imminent, they 'would be surprised if it didn't happen.' But it all comes down to compensation, and Pittsburgh isn't willing to budge much on price." While it seems unlikely that the 49ers would part ways with Aiyuk for anything less than a first-round draft
