So long quarterbacks? New draft order following Rams trade to No. 1

In a move that will certainly
throw everyone's mock drafts into chaos, the NFC West rival Los Angeles Rams have
moved into the number one spot in this month's NFL Draft following a trade with the Tennessee Titans.
The Rams
give up their first-round pick (15th overall), two second round picks, a third round pick, and first and third round picks next year to the Titans, per the
Los Angeles Times. The Rams get the Titans' number one overall, a fourth round pick, and a sixth round pick this year.
The trade certainly changes the landscape of the draft. Likely gone will be the two top quarterback prospects in Jared Goff and Carson Wentz to the Rams and the Cleveland Browns – not necessarily in that order.
NFL Media's Albert Breer reports the Rams already have conducted on-campus workouts with both quarterbacks.
What this does mean is that a solid non-quarterback prospect may fall to the San Francisco 49ers' pick at seventh overall.

7-round mock draft: 49ers trade up to fortify secondary
The San Francisco 49ers first selection in next week's draft comes at No. 31 overall. However, NFL Media analyst Chad Reuter doesn't have the Bay Area team remaining at that spot in the first round. In his seven-round mock draft, he envisions the 49ers striking a deal with the Green Bay Packers to move up six spots to No. 25 overall, where they select former Alabama cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry.
Reuter notes, "Whether it's for a cornerback like McKinstry, an offensive lineman or a receiver, the 49ers could very well give up a mid-round pick to acquire one of the few missing pieces on an otherwise potent roster."

The San Francisco 49ers are likely hoping that a top offensive lineman drops to them at No. 31 in the first round of this month's draft. Fans would like to see the team add someone to compete with Colton McKivitz for the right tackle spot and potentially take over for Trent Williams when the future Hall of Famer decides to retire.
Having two studs bookending the offensive line would go a long way in protecting franchise quarterback Brock Purdy. While tackle may be the first-round target, depending on how the first 30 selections play out, San Francisco might have to trade up to get a genuinely impactful

Marcus Mosher of The 33rd Team revealed his latest mock draft, which goes seven rounds deep and projects every selection for every NFL team. While most predict that the San Francisco 49ers will add an offensive lineman with their first selection, No. 31 overall, Mosher has the Bay Area team going in a different direction.
The writer and analyst has the Niners selecting former UCLA pass rusher Laiatu Latu in the first round.

A questionable rumor surfaced on Wednesday regarding the Pittsburgh Steelers' interest in San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. Sports Illustrated contributor Noah Strackbein reported that the AFC team was seemingly confident they could pull off a trade for Aiyuk.
