Kaepernick in Limbo as 49ers’ Offseason Program Begins

By the time the 49ers open their offseason workout program Monday, quarterback Colin Kaepernick could be gone, traded to the Denver Broncos.Or, not.What seemed like an imminent trade this past weekend stalled, but probably just for a bit. At this point, it appears Kaepernick will be in a Denver uniform sooner rather than later.Meanwhile, Monday is Day 1 of the first two weeks of the 49ers' nine-week offseason program under new head coach Chip Kelly and his staff. The first two weeks are lmited to strength, conditioning and physical rehab work.Other key dates in the offseason program, according to 49ers.com, are: April 18 – The first day of the second phase of workouts, that consist of individual player instruction and offensive and defensive team drills without opposition or contact.May 17 – The first day of three sessions of organized team activities (OTAs): May 17-19, May 24-26 and May 31-June 2. In these sessions, 7-on-7, 9-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills are permitted with no contact.April 26 – Voluntary minicamp through April 28.June 7 – Mandatory minicamp through June 9. The San Francisco 49ers are among the 25 teams kicking off their offseason workout program today. However, don't expect to see players facing off against each other on the practice field for the next couple of weeks. The program's early portion, dubbed "Phase One," spans two weeks and includes limited activities such as meetings, strength and conditioning, and physical rehabilitation only. The second phase of the offseason program extends for three weeks and includes on-field workouts for individual or group instruction and drills. After that, teams can hold up to 10 days of organized team activities on the practice field. 49ers sign WR Trent Taylor, reuniting with former draft pick

The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of wide receiver Trent Taylor to a one-year deal, reuniting with the team's former fifth-round draft pick out of Louisiana Tech. Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area was the first to report that the 49ers were discussing a potential reunion with Taylor. The receiver was part of head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch's first draft class in 2017 and spent his first four NFL seasons with the team. Draft Watch: Western Kentucky WR Malachi Corley visiting 49ers on Wednesday

The San Francisco 49ers are hosting several draft prospects this week as the deadline for pre-draft visits draws near. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the team will host former Western Kentucky wide receiver Malachi Corley on Wednesday. Corley is expected to be a Day 2 pick. San Francisco owns two selections on Day 2—the No. 63 overall pick in the second round and the No. 94 overall pick in the third round. Currently, the receiver is visiting with the Seattle Seahawks.
