An overwhelming majority of online mock drafts have the San Francisco 49ers selecting
Cal QB Jared Goff in next month's draft. That has not changed from last week when
Goff was the team's selection in over 53 percent of surveyed mocks. This week, that number has increased to nearly 58 percent with even more mock drafts making Goff the 49ers' selection with the seventh selection pick.
The top two players remain the same as last week, with the majority of mocks having the 49ers selecting Goff and then
North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz coming in a distant second. Last week,
UCLA OLB Myles Jack and
Oregon DE DeForest Buckner tied for third. This week, Buckner remains tied for third, but this time with
Notre Dame OT Ronnie Stanley.
Quarterbacks make up over 83 percent of the projections compared to last week when the position was just over 78 percent.
Normally we would say that mock drafts mean nothing and are just a fun way to see where analysts and the media see players going. However, we are reminded that last year an overwhelming percentage of them had the 49ers taking
Arik Armstead with their first round selection. The 49ers did take Armstead with their first round selection. Although, they were able to do so after trading down a few spots.
Below is the complete breakdown of our survey of mock drafts this week. You can view the complete list of mocks and their selections within our
49ers Draft War Room. The reported percentages are rounded to the nearest tenth.

Latest PFF mock draft has 49ers making surprise pick in Round 1
The San Francisco 49ers focused on defense in free agency but still have several needs heading into the 2024 NFL Draft. The team did not address the offensive line, and it's a safe bet they will do so with some rookie selections next month. The Niners could also continue bolstering things on the defensive side of the football. Adding to the defensive back, defensive line, or linebacker groups remains possibilities.
Pro Football Focus analyst Brad Spielberger released his latest mock draft and doesn't have the 49ers drafting at any of those positions. Instead, he has the team adding a bit of an insurance policy on offense, drafting former Georgia wide receiver
49ers hold private workout for former Ohio State DB Amir Riep ahead of draft
Former Ohio State cornerback Amir Riep played at Lincoln University in Oakland, California, last season. His last season with the Buckeyes was in 2019. While he was dismissed from the program after being charged with rape, the defender was ultimately found not guilty. Now, he aims to prove he can play in the NFL.
Justin Melo of The Draft Network reports that the San Francisco 49ers recently flew Riep out for a private in-person
49ers forfeit 2025 5th-round draft pick and have 2024 4th-round pick moved
The NFL has reportedly penalized the San Francisco 49ers for payroll accounting errors. The team is losing a fifth-round draft pick in 2025 and having its fourth-round pick in 2024 moved to the end of the round as punishment.

Kiper's latest mock draft has 49ers addressing O-line at No. 31
ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper has just released his latest mock draft, and it has the San Francisco 49ers addressing their offensive line needs. With the initial wave of free agency signings complete, analysts can better predict what teams might do in next month's rookie selection event.
Last month, ahead of the NFL Scouting Combine, Kiper projected the 49ers selecting former Penn State pass rusher Chop Robinson. San Francisco has recently bolstered its defensive end spot opposite Nick Bosa by signing
