49ers notes: Treadwell won’t run, Kelly won’t speak in Indy

Feb 22, 2016 at 7:33 PM--

Treadwell, the consensus top wide receiver in the draft and a logical first-round target for the 49ers, won't run the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine, GM Jr. Treadwell has good size (6-foot-3, 220 pounds) and impressive production (82 catches, 1,153 yards and 11 TDs in 2015), but they are questions about his giddy-up. [...] it's not amusing to 49ers fans. In 2012, the 49ers selected Illinois wide receiver A.J. Jenkins (17 career receptions) with the No. 30 overall pick. The Bears selected Jeffery (252 career catches) 15 picks later. Since selecting Jenkins, 49ers general manager Trent Baalke has noted 40-yard-dash times can be overrated. Bill Belichick (Patriots), Jim Caldwell (Lions), John Harbaugh (Ravens), Marvin Lewis (Bengals), Mike McCoy (Chargers), Sean Payton (Saints), Any Reid (Chiefs) and Mike Tomlin (Steelers). Reid is not attending the combine because he's undergoing knee replacement surgery, the Chiefs announced. Leonhardt, who played 12 games with the Raiders in 2014, was originally signed to the practice squad in November.

Four reasons why the 49ers won't trade Brandon Aiyuk

By Marc Adams
Mar 24

While rumors have continued to swirl about the possibility of the San Francisco 49ers trading star wide receiver, Brandon Aiyuk, some have held fast to the belief that the 49ers will not trade the player. Teams are calling about Aiyuk. Reportedly, the Jacksonville Jaguars were interested but felt the 49ers asking price was too high. And who could forget the talk of Aiyuk going to Pittsburgh when he fanned the trade rumor flames with a social media post about how he and Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin look alike? (Now that he mentions it, they do kind of look alike.) But when push comes to shove, will the 49ers really consider trading Aiyuk? I suppose if the price is right, they will. But they've invested so much in him, from taking him 25th overall in the 2020 NFL draft to

Offensive lineman Jon Feliciano and linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles recently re-signed with the San Francisco 49ers on one-year deals. OverTheCap.com has revealed the contract information for both deals. Feliciano signed a contract that includes the minimum base salary for a player with eight accrued seasons of experience—$1.21 million. Feliciano is scheduled to count about $2.28 million against the 2024 salary cap, while Flannigan-Fowles is slated to consume almost $1.3 million. The linebacker's reduced impact is due to the 49ers using a portion of up to $1.45 million of salary that won't count against the salary cap for veteran players. The 49ers are paying Feliciano a
