Niners’ Schedule Will Be Especially Difficult in 2016

As if the 49ers don't have enough hurdles to clear in 2016, here's another:According to an assessment done on strength of schedules this coming NFL season, the 49ers will have to play perhaps the toughest.The Niners – who have questions all over the roster, including at quarterback, the offensive line, tight end, the secondary and linebacker – are tied with the Falcons for having opponents with the combined best records this coming season. Plus, the 49ers will be adjusting to a whole new coaching staff and schemes, led by head coach Chip Kelly.Atlanta and San Francisco rank first in the NFL with toughest schedule this coming season based on winning percentage. Their opponents had a .555 winning percentage in 2015, according to the figures put together by SB Nation.The dates of the 2016 schedule have not yet been announced, but it is known that the 49ers (5-11 in 2015) will play the Cardinals, Rams, Seahawks, Saints, Bucs, Patriots, Jets and Cowboys at home. The road opponents will be the Cardinals, Rams, Seahawks, Falcons, Panthers, Bills, Dolphins and Bears.The Panthers, of course, were 15-1 and a Super Bowl team, while the Patriots were 12-4 and the Cardinals 13-3.SB...

The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of wide receiver Trent Taylor to a one-year deal, reuniting with the team's former fifth-round draft pick out of Louisiana Tech. Draft Watch: Western Kentucky WR Malachi Corley visiting 49ers on Wednesday

The San Francisco 49ers are hosting several draft prospects this week as the deadline for pre-draft visits draws near. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the team will host former Western Kentucky wide receiver Malachi Corley on Wednesday. Corley is expected to be a Day 2 pick. San Francisco owns two selections on Day 2—the No. 63 overall pick in the second round and the No. 94 overall pick in the third round. Currently, the receiver is visiting with the Seattle Seahawks. Rapoport: 49ers send clear message to teams inquiring about Brandon Aiyuk

Ian Rapoport didn't offer much of an update on the ongoing contract negotiations between the San Francisco 49ers and their standout wide receiver, Brandon Aiyuk. However, the NFL insider emphasized one thing: The team is not entertaining trade discussions at this juncture. Reacting to Aiyuk's decision to unfollow the 49ers on Instagram, Rapoport couldn't help but chuckle at the latest development. This practice has become commonplace among players who are unhappy with their contract situations.
