49ers QB Kaepernick reportedly wants to go to Jets Since head coach Chip Kelly was hired last month, CEO Jed York and general manager Trent Baalke have said quarterback Colin Kaepernick is in the team's 2016 plans. The Jets reportedly could have interest in Kaepernick, but they also are expected to pursue a contract extension with quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, a pending free agent. Fitzpatrick, 33, had career highs in passing yards (3,905) and touchdowns (31) last season to help lead the Jets to a 10-6 record. Less than a month after he was demoted in early November, he sought a second medical opinion for a labrum tear in his nonthrowing shoulder, an injury he probably could have played through, and underwent season-ending surgery at the Steadman Clinic in Vail.

NFL Communications has officially announced the "NFL legends and active players" who will announce selections during Day 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft. Representing the San Francisco 49ers will be former defensive tackle Anthony "Spice" Adams, who spent four seasons with the team and nine in the NFL.

49ers sign WR Trent Taylor, reuniting with former draft pick

The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of wide receiver Trent Taylor to a one-year deal, reuniting with the team's former fifth-round draft pick out of Louisiana Tech.
Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area was the first to report that the 49ers were discussing a potential reunion with Taylor. The receiver was part of head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch's first draft class in 2017 and spent his first four NFL seasons with the team.
