49ers GM Trent Baalke reportedly interviews Tom Coughlin

A day after they were granted permission to interview Tom Coughlin, general manager Trent Baalke interviewed the former Giants head coach in New York on Tuesday, a league source said. The 49ers' interest in Coughlin could be fueled by the prospect of not landing Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson, whom they interviewed Sunday in Cincinnati. Browns owner Jimmy Haslam was not with other NFL owners in Houston on Tuesday as he tried to finalize a deal with Jackson, Cleveland.com reported. Last week, they interviewed Browns offensive coordinator John DiFilippo, 37, who was born in Youngstown, Ohio, the hometown of 49ers CEO Jed York, and has a connection to Coughlin.
