According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, who was on WEEI radio in Boston, the New England Patriots have entered the race for Adalius Thomas and are trying to make a strong push for the free agent linebacker. However, ESPN reported yesterday that Adalius Thomas is in San Francisco right now and is looking to reunite former Baltimore defensive coordinator and current 49ers head coach Mike Nolan.

While a deal is believed to have been agreed to, it does not become official until that deal is signed.

As reported yesterday, the 49ers are also in communications with free agent cornerback Nate Clements, as are the Browns and Titans.

While the 49ers have been reported as one of the teams interested in wide receiver Drew Bennett, it is believed that the Minnesota Vikings are making a stronger push for him. The 49ers released their number one receiver, Antonio Bryant, yesterday.
