LISTEN: Final 49ers 7-Round Mock Draft With Steph Sanchez →

Upon Further Review - Video Podcast set #3

After a one-week hiatus due to technical malfunctions we are back this week with our third set of videos in which we change up our format a bit, going from discussing a couple of topics for a few minutes to discussing more topics but spending less time on each. This week we talk about:

  • Colin Kaepernick.
  • The offensive (get it?) line.
  • Coaching.
  • Trent Baalke.
  • Jed York.

And as always at the end of that video there is our prediction for this week's game in New York against the Giants on Sunday Night Football.

On their first attempt to pick against the spread last time out AJ ended with a 12-3 record while Diego's risk-taking approach netted him a 10-5 record. They're back at it with all of their picks for week five.

As always we look forward to your feedback whether it is a comment to this post or on our youtube page. We also invite you to:

And as always, enjoy it. We'll be back next week (if we avoid any other technical issues).

Thanks guys, I wouldn't let myself believe this was a train wreck waiting to happen. After last season I knew Kap could never be a pocket passer or scan the field. I believed 6 weeks could transform him. I knew he showed no instincts that good or average qb's possess. We need football men at the top. I still believe Dr. York makes all the financial decisions, and his motto has always been cheap is best.

Liked It. Keep summarizing the video into bullet points in print, hooked me. Wanted to comment brifly on OL. Poor play is the cause of Baalke mistakes and bad decision by JT. Two years ago, Boone was holding out for a new contract. Iupati was going to be free agent before him and Boone was hearing MU was going to be making huge money in FA. Boone wanted to hit the bank before MU, he didn't like that MU was making considerly more while MU was still on his rookie contract. Baalke knew he was not going to pay MU the market value, he never does. He extends a player contract like Staley and Davis or the player walks. My point is this, we had leverage on Boone when he wanted to renogtiate his contract. We knew if we didn't extend Boone we are losing two OG's after this year. Two years ago we should have used our leverage to sign Boone long term for dollars signaficantly less than Iupati got this year. Instead we gave him a raise and also guaranteed we wouldn't franchise Boone after this year. Why is this important? Boone is the second best tackle on this team. He should be playing RT, but he won't because RT makes more $ than an OG. Niners don't want Boone making RT money = OL is Crap.
