Santa Clara Police Chief Says Levi’s Stadium is Safe
Violence at Levi's Stadium is raising big concerns about fan safety.Cell phone video of San Francisco 49ers fans beating a Minnesota Vikings fan at Levi's Stadium that went viral earlier this month has the attention of the Santa Clara Stadium Authority. Members of the stadium authority issued a memo to city leaders asking what can be done to improve safety.A report presented late Tuesday by Santa Clara Police Chief Michael Sellers insists the stadium is a safe venue.The chief's report said more than 830,000 fans have attended 13 NFL games at Levi's Stadium. During those games police responded to more than 1,800 calls for service and arrested 319 people.Most of the arrests were for people being drunk in public, according to the chief's report.Sellers said focusing on alcohol-related issues will improve safety at the stadium. The chief also said it is important to remind troublemakers they will be prosecuted."If they assault, prosecute," Sellers said. "If they're season ticket holders, revoke season tickets."The chief said three 49ers season ticket holders linked to violence have lost their seats.Photo Credit: Getty Images

An NFL local pro day is an event hosted by teams to allow prospects with ties to the local area to showcase their skills in front of team personnel. These prospects typically hail from nearby colleges or have some other connection to the region where the team is based. Head coach Kyle Shanahan, general manager John Lynch, and a contingent of coaches, executives, and scouts will be on hand to evaluate prospective draftees during the 49ers' local pro day.

The San Francisco 49ers are hosting several draft prospects this week as the deadline for pre-draft visits draws near. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the team will host former Western Kentucky wide receiver Malachi Corley on Wednesday.
