Niners’ Hunter Flashes Old Form vs. Broncos
It's been a slow road back for Kendall Hunter. Certainly slower than he had hoped. After missing last year because of a torn ACL, Hunter predicted in the offseason that he would be 100 percent and ready to roll in training camp.Yet he's been mostly absent from summer scrimmages and missed the first two preseason games. Now, however, it appears Hunter is getting closer. This week, during joint 49ers-Broncos practices in Denver before Saturday night's exhibition game, Hunter has come on strong. On Wednesday, he took snaps with the 49ers' first-team offense and looked sharp.Niners head coach Jim Tomsula obviously was pleased."Wasn't he moving around really well?" he said to reporters afterward. "You know, it was great to see."Since joining the 49ers in 2011, Hunter has been a terrific element in the team's rushing attack. He's rushed for an average of 4.6 yards per carry and has given the offense a great change-of-pace back. He's also averaged 9.9 yards per reception. If Hunter is healthy, he's a great complement to Carlos Hyde, Reggie Bush and rookie Mike Davis. The 49ers have been cautious about throwing Hunter into the mix – Wednesday's practice against the Broncos wasn't full...

Trent Taylor snatches up 49ers star receiver's old number
By David Bonilla
Apr 19
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel will be wearing No. 1 the next time he steps onto the football field, leaving behind his No. 19 jersey. It's an unfortunate change for any fan who previously invested in a Deebo jersey—unless they consider it a throwback.
Newly signed wide receiver Trent Taylor quickly claimed No. 19 after rejoining the team on a one-year deal following three seasons elsewhere. Taylor last wore No. 15 with the 49ers, a number currently worn by wide receiver Jauan Jennings. Taylor also wore No. 81 with the team.
The 49ers' official team site has listed the jersey numbers for several of the team's free-agent newcomers (and Maliek Collins, acquired via a

The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of wide receiver Trent Taylor to a one-year deal, reuniting with the team's former fifth-round draft pick out of Louisiana Tech.
Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area was the first to report that the 49ers were discussing a potential reunion with Taylor. The receiver was part of head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch's first draft class in 2017 and spent his first four NFL seasons with the team.

Rapoport: 49ers send clear message to teams inquiring about Brandon Aiyuk
By David Bonilla
Apr 16
Ian Rapoport didn't offer much of an update on the ongoing contract negotiations between the San Francisco 49ers and their standout wide receiver, Brandon Aiyuk. However, the NFL insider emphasized one thing: The team is not entertaining trade discussions at this juncture.
Reacting to Aiyuk's decision to unfollow the 49ers on Instagram, Rapoport couldn't help but chuckle at the latest development. This practice has become commonplace among players who are unhappy with their contract situations. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel similarly took this action in 2022 before requesting to be traded just before the draft.
Things have yet to escalate that far with Aiyuk, but Rapoport sees his
