Australian rookie RB warms to new sport

After spending his summer break in his native Australia, 49ers rookie running back Jarryd Hayne admitted Friday that it was difficult to leave for training camp knowing he wouldn't return home for at least six months. However, he discovered the transition was assisted by the Santa Clara sun — it's currently winter in Australia — and his new teammates. "It wasn't until I got back to California and seeing the boys and the hot weather that I kind of was relieved," Hayne said. "It wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be." Actually, now comes the hard part: The football neophyte and former Australian rugby league star will attempt to make the 49ers' 53-man roster.

Marcus Mosher of The 33rd Team revealed his latest mock draft, which goes seven rounds deep and projects every selection for every NFL team. While most predict that the San Francisco 49ers will add an offensive lineman with their first selection, No. 31 overall, Mosher has the Bay Area team going in a different direction.
