The recent news of the Detroit Lions agreeing to a four-year, $120 million extension for wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, with $77 million guaranteed, likely piques the interest of wideout Brandon Aiyuk, who eagerly awaits his own contract extension from the San Francisco 49ers.
With St. Brown's annual salary now hovering around $30 million and Philadelphia Eagles receiver DeVonta Smith's recent deal averaging about $25 million with $51 million guaranteed, Aiyuk's agent, Ryan Williams, will likely leverage these figures in discussions with the 49ers.
49ers Webzone editor Brian Renick, also a host of the "No Huddle Podcast," recently speculated that Aiyuk's contract could fall between those of St. Brown and Smith. He suggests a ballpark figure of $27-$28 million

Analyst Dane Brugler of The Athletic grades former Iowa State cornerback T.J. Tampa as a second or third-round draft pick and ranks him 55th overall on his big board. Pro Football Focus, however, holds a higher opinion of the young defensive back. In his latest mock draft, the site's lead analyst, Sam Monson, has the San Francisco 49ers selecting Tampa with the No. 31 overall pick.
"T.J. Tampa fits the prototype of a 49ers cornerback," Monson explains. "He has had consecutive seasons of very impressive play and allowed just 240 yards on 49 targets last season. The team doesn't necessarily need him to make an immediate impact, but they could

Analyst Dane Brugler recently revealed his seven-round mock draft for The Athletic, forecasting all 257 selections in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, set to kick off next week.
"Piecing together a mock like this is time consuming, but I enjoy the exercise, because it allows me to focus on each team's needs, organizational trends and prospect-team pairings that make sense based on '30' visits, league buzz and overall interest," Brugler wrote.
Most expect the 49ers to address the trenches early in the draft, and Brugler has the team doing that. It's just not on the offensive side of the football. In fact, Brugler doesn't have San Francisco

The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of wide receiver Trent Taylor to a one-year deal, reuniting with the team's former fifth-round draft pick out of Louisiana Tech.
Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area was the first to report that the 49ers were discussing a potential reunion with Taylor. The receiver was part of head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch's first draft class in 2017 and spent his first four NFL seasons with the team.
