Darnell Dockett will visit with the 49ers tonight

Mar 2, 2015 at 12:34 PM--

According to ESPN's Ed Werder, defensive lineman Darnell Dockett has a visit scheduled for tonight with the San Francisco 49ers.

Dockett has spent his entire career with the Arizona Cardinals, who drafted him in the third round of the 2004 NFL Draft. He is a three-time Pro Bowler and was a first-team All-Pro in 2009.

Dockett was released by the Cardinals last Friday and, according to his agent, has been drawing a lot of interest from NFL teams. His agent stated that his client's situation should be resolved by the end of the week.

He has amassed 459 tackles, 40.5 sacks, four interceptions and seven forced fumbles during his career.

Docket was entering the final year of his contract with the Cardinals and was due to make $6.55 million. The Cardinals would like to have him return, but at a lower cost.

According to Pro Football Focus, Dockett has a career +50.2 pass rush grade. However, his -122.9 run defense grade is the lowest of any interior defensive lineman over the PFF era.
