According to Damian Trujillo, an NBC Bay Area news reporter, a source states that San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Ray McDonald has had an incident involving domestic violence. Trujillo is confirming with the 49ers.

Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee confirms that, according to the Santa Clara Department of Corrections, McDonald was booked at 5:30 AM this morning for "inflicting injury on a spouse or cohabitant." No bail has been set at this point. Barrows also states that the NFL's revised rules regarding domestic violence includes a six-game suspension for a first offense.

The incident may have taken place at a party for McDonald's birthday. His birthday is on Tuesday. Barrows states that there were 49ers players on hand when police arrived at McDonald's home.

Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area adds that, according to the San Jose Police Department, "McDonald was taken into custody with out incident and booked into Santa Clara County Jail on felony domestic violence charges."

McDonald, a third round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, has spent his entire career with the 49ers. He has had 134 tackles, 13 sacks and three fumbles during that career. On Friday, he restructured his contract with the 49ers.

By David Bonilla

Ian Rapoport didn't offer much of an update on the ongoing contract negotiations between the San Francisco 49ers and their standout wide receiver, Brandon Aiyuk. However, the NFL insider emphasized one thing: The team is not entertaining trade discussions at this juncture.
