San Francisco 49ers not worried at all about slow start to preseason

Aug 17, 2014 at 9:44 PM--

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The 49ers fans are lucky this brand-new stadium has such great Wi-Fi capability. They didn't have to wait to get home to complain on social media about the team's preseason play. The 49ers opened beautiful new Levi's Stadium with quite an ugly performance. Denver won 34-0, bringing the 49ers' cumulative score in their two preseason games to 57-3. Plenty of the 49ers fans who came out for the team's debut at Levi's Stadium left well before the game ended. There are so many expectations for these 49ers, after coming so close to winning a championship the past three years but coming up empty. That's why the preseason pratfall through two weeks might cause a bit more anxiety than it should. But there's nothing to worry about. "It doesn't bother me at all, and I'm sure it doesn't bother any of my teammates," tight end Vernon Davis said. "We're not worried about this. It's the preseason. "This is a time for us to bond and get better. There's nothing to worry about. Everybody relax. Put your seat belt on. Sit back and breathe. Because we're getting ready. We're preparing ourselves." Davis is correct that the short answer is, preseason results don't matter....

By David Bonilla

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy achieved a remarkable feat in 2023, setting a single-season franchise record with 4,280 passing yards. This accomplishment is noteworthy, considering the illustrious quarterbacks who have graced the organization's history. A significant portion of those yards came from wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, who amassed a career-high and team-leading 1,342 receiving yards. Most of his 75 catches originated from passes thrown by Purdy. Amidst significant offseason chatter surrounding the 49ers' star receiver, including several unsubstantiated trade rumors, Aiyuk's future remains uncertain. Former NFL player James Jones, now an analyst, expressed concern for Purdy should Aiyuk's tenure in the Bay Area come to an end. "I

During the NFL owners' meetings, San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York noted the significant rise in quarterback salaries in recent years. York stated, "And to me, the quarterback is the most important position, not just in football, but in all sports, and those guys should be paid a lot." Last week, Brock Purdy addressed York's comments, showing no concern about the financial implications that will arise next year. Instead, he
