SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Ian Williams admitted that in the early, dark days after he suffered a severely broken leg at Seattle last September, he wondered if he'd fully recover.However, after four surgeries (the last in February), the San Francisco 49ers' promising nose tackle is nearing the end of his long rehabilitation. Williams reached a significant milestone Tuesday when the 49ers took him off the physically unable to perform list.Williams will likely be eased into action.

NFL Media's Bucky Brooks unveiled his final mock draft, projecting the San Francisco 49ers to select former Arizona offensive tackle Jordan Morgan with the No. 31 overall pick as their eventual replacement for Williams.

The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of wide receiver Trent Taylor to a one-year deal, reuniting with the team's former fifth-round draft pick out of Louisiana Tech.
Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area was the first to report that the 49ers were discussing a potential reunion with Taylor. The receiver was part of head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch's first draft class in 2017 and spent his first four NFL seasons with the team.
