Joe Montana Plays Final Football Game at Candlestick

The final football game ever in San Francisco's Candlestick Park was played Saturday by a team of 49ers greats, led by four-time Super Bowl winner Joe Montana.Montana, who played quarterback on the 49ers from 1979 to 1992, suited up once again to take on an all-star team led by famed Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino.Ahead of this weekend's "Legends of Candlestick" final football Game, Montana signed autographs for fans in San Francisco, with all proceeds going toward the San Francisco police and fire departments.The two public safety departments will be competing against each other in a flag football game ahead of Saturday's "Legends of Candlestick" game. - Joe Montana Will Play in Final Football Game at Candlestick Park in 'Legends of Candlestick' Flag Football GameMontana and wide receiver Jerry Rice, along with former 49ers Roger Craig, Dwight Clark, Steve Young and many others, faced off in a game against a team captained by Marino.The game is part of the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department's "Last Summer at the 'Stick" series of events.Kick-off for the main game was at 7 p.m. at the stadium, which hosted its final 49ers game earlier...

The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of wide receiver Trent Taylor to a one-year deal, reuniting with the team's former fifth-round draft pick out of Louisiana Tech. Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area was the first to report that the 49ers were discussing a potential reunion with Taylor. The San Francisco 49ers are hosting several draft prospects this week as the deadline for pre-draft visits draws near. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the team will host former Western Kentucky wide receiver Malachi Corley on Wednesday. Corley is expected to be a Day 2 pick. San Francisco owns two selections on Day 2—the No. 63 overall pick in the second round and the No. 94 overall pick in the third round. Currently, the receiver is visiting with the Seattle Seahawks.
