Matt Maiocco of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports former 49ers QB Cody Pickett gave the 49ers a call. He would like the team to sign him and send him to NFL Europe in the spring. The 49ers are not opposed to the plan. But if they do sign Pickett to send him to Europe, the plan would be for them to release him after the Europe season so that he can hook on with another team. Coach Mike Nolan said he is not adverse to doing a favor for Pickett. Nolan was doing Pickett a favor on the eve of training camp when he traded him to the Texans. Pickett was not going to make the 49ers this season, so Nolan gave him a better opportunity by sending him to a place where he had a chance.
