Colt McCoy officially became a former San Francisco 49er when he signed Thursday with the Washington Redskins. In reality, McCoy was gone as soon as the season ended. It was clear the 49ers were ready to move. In fact, they considered it several times last year, but he ended up making it through the season as Colin Kaepernick's backup.McCoy's fate in San Francisco was ultimately sealed when the 49ers traded for Blaine Gabbert last month. The team also has McLeod Bethel-Thompson, who finished last season on the practice squad.
