The San Francisco 49ers may turn to their greatest rival to address one of their few needs.Seattle free-agent cornerback Walter Thurmond tweeted Thursday that he is headed to San Francisco for a visit. He visited Jacksonville on Thursday.Thurmond is a versatile player who can play inside and outside. He'd be an upgrade for the 49ers at the cornerback position, which is still somewhat of a work in progress.Interestingly, Thurmond and 49ers free-agent cornerback Tarell Brown have the same agent.

Why extending 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk needs to be a priority

Amid all the trade rumors, the San Francisco 49ers must prioritize extending star pass-catcher Brandon Aiyuk. Aiyuk, 26, is an ascending star who has yet to plateau heading into his fifth NFL season. The former Arizona St. product is coming off a stellar 2023 campaign, which saw Aiyuk haul in 75 receptions on 105 targets for a career-high 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns. Aiyuk also averaged a career-high 17.9 yards per reception and maintained a catch rate of 71.4%, both career-bests. The 49ers offense has a ton of mouths to feed, but each of their offensive weapons complement each other quite nicely. Details emerge on 49ers' 1-year deals with Jon Feliciano and Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles

Offensive lineman Jon Feliciano and linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles recently re-signed with the San Francisco 49ers on one-year deals. OverTheCap.com has revealed the contract information for both deals. Feliciano signed a contract that includes the minimum base salary for a player with eight accrued seasons of experience—$1.21 million. Flannigan-Fowles' base salary is slightly higher, at about $1.77 million. Feliciano is scheduled to count about $2.28 million against the 2024 salary cap, while Flannigan-Fowles is slated to consume almost $1.3 million. The linebacker's reduced impact is due to the 49ers using a portion of up to $1.45 million of salary that won't count against the salary cap for veteran players. The 49ers are paying Feliciano a
